The discipline of conscious release

Danshari is a Japanese word built from the concepts of dangyo, shagyo, and rigyo.Dan means to refusesha means to release, andri means to detach. These concepts originate in yogic philosophy and relate to the evolution of the soul. Hideko Yamashita, author and home decluttering professional in Japan, blended and applied these to the environment as a path toward a more liberated, cheerful, and "sunny" way of living.

Your guide, and helping hand

What are you holding onto that is costing you clarity, energy, or peace?Decluttering is not easy- it is a discipline and a practice. That's what I am here to help with.Through private and group education sessions as well as 1:1 consultation, we can move away from clutter and chaos and closer to your ideal lifestyle.

Refuse - Release - Detach

"Dan" "sha" "Ri"

Dan is the process of stopping the influx, of identifying the sources of excess and chaos. And learning to say no.Sha is the process of decluttering and decommissioning the unnecessary items. It's ok- things move into our lives. Sha is letting them move out to have a healthy home and way of living.Ri is the natural result: Letting go of something we value is the ultimate test of our ability to overcome the control that our possessions have over us. "Through repetitive practice, we can forego the attachments to our material belongings and liberate our spirit so that we can live a relaxed and comfortable life." Hideko Yamashita

Thank you

I would like to sincerely thank Hideko Yamashita for creating the method she calls danshari and humbly sharing it with the world through her book (2009) and her ongoing work in Japan. Danshari is beautifully simple and subtly profound, affecting layers and aspects of life beyond the material.
